Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 at the Olympic competition. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi who was later her Romanian gymnastics coach at the time she was six years old. Her first competition was in the national junior championships which she was 13th place in the year 1969. In 1970, Comaneci took home the title.
